Louis J. Ignarro
DESCRIPTION
Awarded the 1998 Nobel Prize in the Medicine or Physiology category, Professor Ignarro is Scientific supervisor of the Dialogs Beyond Borders project. Proud of his Italian heritage, he has courageously crossed many borders in pursuit of his relentless interest in science. In this interview he recalls his childhood, his passion for explosives and racing cars, and the intuition that led him to be nicknamed "the father of the blue pill" – the discovery of the properties of nitric oxide, which opened the door to several important applications in medicine.
